The Lorentz Lyceum is a school for secondary education with a broad international profile. The size of the school is approximately 900 students and the number of staff is approximately 100. The Lorentz Lyceum has three departments which prepare students respectively for university and higher and middle vocational education. The Lorentz Lyceum is a BILINGUAL(TTO) school for the highest two levels of secondary education in the Netherlands.The school is a member of UNESCO Associated Schools Project Network - ASPnet.
Gymnazium Jana Papanka (Bratislava), Slovakia
Gymnazium Jana Papanka is a public secondary school in Bratislava with 550 pupils and 50 teachers which prepares students for universities. Our school is a member of UNESCO ASPnet. There are two study programmes: an 8-year programme for students aged 11-19 and a 4-year programme for students aged 15-19. Selected classes are prepared for and take Deutsches Sprachdiplom which allows students to study in German speaking countries. Other classes have extended science lessons.
Gladsaxe Gymnasium, Denmark
Gladsaxe Gymnasium is an upper secondary school with an academic focus and is located in the suburbs of Copenhagen. Gladsaxe Gymnasium has 1.050 students and a teaching staff of 90 and 20 support staff members. The students stay for a three-year academic program to prepare them for further studies at college or university. The age of the students is between 16 - 19 years. Gladsaxe Gymnasium has two specific reasons to join this project. First of all, the school has developed an international profile within the last couple of years and is a Unesco ASP-school. One of the aims with the international profile is to enhance student intercultural competences and heighten their focuses on the SDG's to inspire to active citizenship.
Duborg-Skolen (Flensborg), Germany
As the oldest Danish secondary school in Germany with around 600 students, established in 1920, Duborg-Skolen is often regarded as the flagship of the Danish minority in Germany. In many respects Duborg-Skolen is a traditional grammar school with emphasis on preparing its students for further academic studies at university level. Since Duborg-Skolen is situated in Germany, the students follow the German educational system; that is the rules and regulations of Schleswig-Holstein. However, the Danish Ministry of Education recognises an examination from Duborg-Skolen. Thus,
a graduate from Duborg-Skolen will be able to apply for university in both Denmark and Germany. As consequence, Duborg-Skolen focuses on enhancing individual academic skills, with particular emphasis on developing university level writing skills. Though characterised by rather informal tone at the school, high professional standards are expected from the students, both in terms of individual responsibility and the ability to critically assess and analyse issues affecting society. Therefore, Duborg-Skolen believes in motivating students through international cooperation in order to find solutions to real life problems.
